Torbay –
The English Rivera – is famed for its mild climate, outstanding
coastal scenery and its easy going way of life.
The bustling
port of Brixham lies at the southern end of the bay with its characteristic
cottages nestling on the hillsides above its picturesque harbour.
The town offers properties for all tastes and budgets from cosy
one bedroom flats, an array of houses and bungalows through to exclusive
marine homes. Many properties in the town enjoy fabulous sea views,
and if they do not have a view the sea is always less than two miles
away.
The villages
of Churston and Galmpton lie just outside Brixham and are communities
in their own rights. Churston has it golf course right on the door
step and Galmpton offers a traditional village with its own pub,
shop, butchers and sub post office – see www.galmptontorbay.org.uk.
Broadsands is
another very special area with a character of its own. The areas
many properties lead down the hillside towards the golden sands
of Broadsands and the pebble beach at Elberry Cove - a mecca for
water skiers. Hookhills is a popular residential area just slightly
inland with properties covering a wide price range and served by
good local shops at Churston Broadway and Cherrybrook Square where
there is also a doctors’ surgery and dental practice.
Running through
all of these areas is the south Devon section of the South West
Coastal path, which must have some of the most outstanding coastal
views anywhere in the country.
