Next weekend, Friday, Saturday and Sunday August 4th, 5th and 6th is the date for the annual Torbay Steam Fair at the Churston Showground between Paignton and Brixham. The Steam Fair is one of the biggest summertime events in Torbay attracting thousands of visitors every year. The highlight of the show is the fantastic line up traction engines, with many providing the power for agricultural machinery from days gone by. Much of the machinery on show is now over one hundred years old. As well as the steam engines there is something for everyone. On show will be classic and vintage cars, commercial vehicles, tractors, military vehicles and motorcycles. Food and drink for all tastes is available all day long, including some particularly strong cider! The market area offers all kinds of goodies and for the young as well as the young at heart is the travelling fairground. The Eric Lloyd & Co vintage Austin van will be on show over the weekend in amongst the other vans and lorries both large and small. If you are considering a move to the area why not combine a visit to the show with a look around the villages of Galmpton and Churston. Eric Lloyd & Co’s office at Windy Corner is less than a mile from the showground, call in and have a chat – 01803 844466. The office currently has a wide choice of properties on offer in Churston and Galmpton. Within sight of the showground is a three bedroom cottage style house with a double garage in the heart of Churston village itself on the market at an asking price of £289,000.
