Ten outstanding gardens were on show in Galmpton village last weekend for the village’s Open Gardens Day all of which are labours of love and drew visitors from all over Devon.  The day was a huge success breaking all previous records with all proceeds going to Rowcroft Hospice, Children’s Hospice South West and The Samaritans.  The event was supported by Eric Lloyd & Co and The Manor Inn.  Whilst a show standard garden is an exceptional bonus, roadside and garden appeal is often a crucial factor in the sale of a property with the garden forming an integral element of its appearance.  If your property is on the market or you are considering selling, early summer is an ideal time to easily add some summer sparkle to your garden.  Just a splash of reds and yellows with some summertime plants can transform the appearance of virtually any property.  A couple of tubs of geraniums or a couple of hanging baskets are simple ways to add some colour, with many garden centres stocking ready planted tubs and baskets which just require regular watering and feeding during the summer months.  For slightly larger gardens a drift of summer bedding plants set against a neatly cut lawn and trimmed hedges can transform that all important first impression for would be buyers.  If your property has been on the market for a while make sure your agent reshoots the garden photos to reflect the summer season!
