I write this the day after the election, the day the exit polls proved to be relatively accurate. The media are talking about uncertainty and the pound took a bit of a knock, but in general life goes on. After a quieter few days prior to the election the phones were ringing as usual at Eric Lloyd & Co’s offices with viewings being arranged, valuations being booked and offers coming in. By lunchtime four sales had been agreed and new listings booked in for the week ahead. Despite some uncertainty in government there appears to be no reason why interest rates should change in the immediate future, keeping mortgage rates at their current affordable levels. The key to maintaining momentum in the housing market is a continuing supply of new listings both locally and nationally to meet the demand from those who have sold and those with “cash in the bank”. Eric Lloyd & Co’s Paignton office has recently listed properties in Great Tree Close, Tor Close, Gibson Road and Cherry Brook Drive. Whilst, since the start of June, new listings in Brixham have included properties in Hill Park Road, Mabin Court, Springdale Close, Pillar Avenue and Elm Road. Both offices have potential buyers registered whose requirements we have not been able to match with our existing listings. If you are considering selling in the second half of 2017 don’t wait, act now and arrange a free and without obligation valuation with one of our highly experienced valuation specialists.
