Next Sunday, July 24th, is the date for the English Riviera Classic Car Show held on Paignton Green. This event is a “must see” show for anyone with an interest in classic and vintage vehicles with a gleaming display of cars, commercial vehicles and motorcycles ranging from the standard to the exotic. Many of the vehicles on display represent the cream of their types all vying for the coveted “best in show” award. Their owners have spent many hours preparing their vehicles for the show cleaning and polishing with many being presented in as new condition despite being thirty, forty or fifty plus years old! The Eric Lloyd & Co 1925 vintage Austin van will be on show during the day, fresh from a full repaint last winter and now complete with traditional sign writing. Catching the judges’ eyes before they look at a vehicle in detail is a crucial element of the show. There is a very similar analogy in presenting a property for sale. Potential buyers are very similar to the judges at the show. Where the cars are all polished and cleaned to gain maximum interest it is important that a property is presented to generate maximum interest from a roadside glance or headline photo. If you are selling wherever possible endeavour to make sure the street view is attractive as possible, keep the garden tidy and the lawn trimmed. A good tip is to stand across the road and view your property imagining you are the buyer looking for the first time!
