Next Sunday, 5th June, is Open Gardens Day in Galmpton. This is one of the highlights in the calendar of village events. Ten gardens around the village will be opening their “front gates” between 11.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. The gardens are of all shapes and sizes including classic cottage gardens, outstanding show standard gardens as well as a garden in the making. Admission to the gardens is by “Garden Passports” (£3 per person giving entry to all 10 gardens) which are available in advance from Galleon Stores and The Manor Inn in the village as well from Eric Lloyd & Co’s office at Churston Broadway. The Passports will be on sale during the day at the information desk outside the village hall where refreshments will be served all day. The day is supported by The Manor Inn and Eric Lloyd & Co with all proceeds in aid of Children’s Hospice South West, Rowcroft and the Samaritans. Galmpton village enjoys a delightful location bordering the river Dart midway between Brixham and Paignton and remains a firm favourite with home buyers. Eric Lloyd & Co have recently agreed sales on two bungalows in Langdon Fields, houses in Langdon Lane and The Coombe as well as two homes at Fairway Close. Properties currently on the market in and around the village include an outstanding barn conversion at Alston Farm, a superbly re-fitted and presented bungalow in Manor Vale Road and a bungalow tucked away in the heart of the village in Old Road.
