FOCUS ON GALMPTON VILLAGE

Galmpton is a delightful village situated between the towns of Brixham and Paignton on the banks of the picturesque River Dart.  The history of the village can be traced back to the Doomsday Book.

Nowadays, the village has a wealth of community appeal with two popular village inns, GP surgery, local butchers, and Galleon General Stores (with sub post office) which recently won the Best Neighbourhood Business as part of the Nextdoor Good Neighbour Awards.  Community facilities include the Barn Chapel Hall and the Institution village hall which normally support a variety of leisure, social and cultural activities.

Greenway Estate is a Grade II Listed house which is now owned and run by the National Trust and was the former home of crime writer Agatha Christie.  The Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway runs along the edge of the village.

Bill Bye, Director of Eric Lloyd & Co said “Galmpton is a very popular village and properties that come onto the market in the village tend to sell quickly.  We have recently sold properties in Greenway Road, Galmpton Farm Close, Langdon Fields and Higher Warborough Road and still have proceedable buyers looking to purchase their new home in the village.  If you are thinking of selling and would like a free market appraisal then please contact Rachel Cowls on 01803 844466.”
