GALMPTON GOOSEBERRY PIE FAIR
Sunday 7th July is the date for the 2024 Galmpton Gooseberry Pie Fair. This follows hot on the heels of Galmpton Open Gardens Day which raised in excess of £2,500 for Rowcroft Hospice, Brixham Does Care and other local organisations. The gardens were magnificent and Lisa and her team kept the tea and cakes flowing all day. The event was supported by The Manor Inn and Eric Lloyd & Co Estate Agents.
The famous Gooseberry Pie Fair, which dates back to at least 1873, is being held for the second year running on Galmpton Warborough with pedestrian access, admission by donation, from the top of Slade Lane. The fair opens at 11.00 a.m. and runs throughout the day concluding at 6.00 p.m. There will of course be the traditional sale of the Gooseberry Pie topped with lashings of clotted cream. There will be entertainment for all of the family during the day, including live music, children’s’ games, bar, barbecue, hog roast, plus numerous stalls to browse. It promises to be a great village and community event. Don’t miss it!
