The annual Galmpton Open Gardens and Scarecrow Trail is taking place this coming Sunday, 9th June.  A dozen gardens around the village will have their gates open to welcome visitors between 11.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m., with four being new for 2019.  Admission is by a “Garden Passport” available to purchase at £5 per person (children free) in advance from Galleon Stores, The Manor Inn or Eric Lloyd & Co or on the day at the information point at the village hall.  The gardens range from a classic cottage garden, through a garden worthy of the Chelsea flower show to an evolving garden set off by a sweeping manicured lawn.  Refreshments are available in the village hall throughout the day, with The Manor Inn also open for Sunday lunch.  The Open Gardens Day gives visitors a great opportunity to stroll around many parts of this delightful village nestling between the sea and the river.  The event is supported by Eric Lloyd & Co and The Manor Inn.  Eric Lloyd & Co’s office at Churston Broadway has recently completed sales on six properties in and around the village and currently has a choice of properties on the market.  These include a chalet bungalow in Higher Warborough Road, a family style house in Slade Lane, a grand design style home in Galmpton Farm Close as well two holiday bungalows at Galmpton Holiday Park.  If you are thinking of buying or selling in Galmpton village call Rachel Cowls, Bill Bye, Tina Barber or Laura England on 01803 844466.
