Wondering whether to put your home on the market now or wait until the Spring?

Although winter is more traditionally a quieter time, the current market is still busy.

The majority of buyers start their search on the internet so even if the weather is wet and cold, potential buyers will have time to browse through the online listings.  So if you are considering selling during this time it is worth spending some time preparing your home to reflect that it is a wonderful place to live in regardless of the weather outside.

A few pointers to create a welcoming atmosphere:

Low natural light in winter can make interiors feel dark and dull, so make sure that you pull back the curtains and open the blinds to let as much light in as possible.  Switch on lamps to add a warm and welcoming glow.

Adding low maintenance green plants that are easy to look after and flowering orchids all create the feeling that spring is just around the corner.

To help create that welcoming ambience turn up the heating by a few degrees prior to the viewing, light any fires or log burners and light any scented candles.

Make sure that your garden is presented to its best, sweep the paths and pick up leaves.  Clean down any patio or decking areas and add some solar powered lighting.
